The braves of Bran-ô-Kor
The goblin emissaries, sent to negotiate an alliance with the followers of Arh-Tolth, never returned. The Scorpion technomancers, ever curious, preferred to dissect the little ambassadors rather than listen to them. Years later, thousands of orc slaves, the fruit of experiments carried out by the Alchemists on the goblins, decided to flee their creators. This massive exodus stunned the Syhar population as the orcs fled north to settle in the inhospitable mountains of the Bran-Ô-Kor.
The orcs mirror their habitat, harsh and unforgiving, and yet they have a rich culture, from which the peoples of Aarklash could learn much, if they ever abandoned their attempts to wipe them out …
The orcs are rough and brutish and they defend their lands, at all costs against invaders. Especially against the Alchemists of the Scorpion, who do their utmost to eradicate the spawn of their “failed experiments”. Fortunately for Darius and his company, the orcs are on peaceful terms – or at least bound by a non-aggression pact – with the Akkylannian …
The Fanatic
Many orcs have the deepest respect for Shaka-Morkhaï, hero of both the orc people and champion of their god. If his role as the chosen one is to eliminate the enemies of the Braves, his is not a solitary combat. There are many orc fanatics who follow the example of their Jackal Lord, to the point of imitating him, with tattooed body and the skull of a brontops securely harnessed to their back …
Despite his war machine appearance, the fanatic is an all-round unit, able to inflict physical and magical damage while also being able to heal his allies or to prevent enemies from casting spells.
Visually, the Fanatic is inspired by Shaka-Morkhaï, a living legend amongst the orcs and the chosen one of the Jackal god.
The Initiate
Initiates, in a similar way to shaman, are able to master instinctive magic. In combat they use to come to the assistance of allies, to protect the weakest and to support the strongest.
The Initiate is the ultimate support unit. Not only can it withstand all control effects, but it can also heal allies. Given these strengths, it soon becomes the main target for enemy attacks, because without first eliminating the Initiate, it is difficult to finish off his allies.
Visually, the Initiate is inspired by Shaka-Umruk, the renowned shaman of Bran-Ô-Kor.
The Jackal Tracker
The Trackers have chosen the path of active resistance to the Alchemists. They left their tribes and settled on the edge of the desert. Thanks to their knowledge of the area, they have become masters of guerrilla warfare and they make life difficult for the Syhars, either by raiding Scorpion outposts or by intercepting messengers and convoys who dare enter the tribe’s territory.
The Tracker is a sturdy, combat-hardened unit, which can weaken his target and increase his own power before launching a violent charge against his enemy. He makes the most of his axe in mêlées, but he can also use a crossbow, if required.
